Awesome Web Resources

Here's a reflection I wrote on a math resources blog. You can see that I found the website to be infinitely helpful an a great resource for all elementary teachers.

K-5 Math Teaching Resources
http://www.k-5mathteachingresources.com

What is the purpose of the web resource?
This website provides elementary teachers with activities, anchor charts, games, journal/project guidelines and so much more! It has any and all math materials a teacher could need, all organized by grade level and function.
Would you use it? Why or why not? What questions about teaching and learning math could it help you answer?
I would definitely use this website. It is extremely versatile. It would help almost any teacher, for example a teacher who was looking to help students who are struggling with a specific math concept, or a teacher who was looking to boost fact fluency.
Could it help you gain more knowledge about your teaching? If so, how?
I think this website would help teachers understand exactly what strategies or concepts their students are struggling with – which might provide insight into what they could change about their instruction to make those ideas more clear.
What was the most interesting aspect of the resource?
The most interesting aspect of this website to me was the sheer amount of resources available. This website has anything math-related you could ever need. I also really appreciated how easy it was to find things – such a great idea to organize the materials by grade level AND type! I think this website would also be helpful for teachers just to browse, as I came up with a lot of great lesson ideas by simply clicking though the links.
Would you recommend the resource to someone else? Who and why?
I would recommend this resource to any and all elementary teachers, new and experienced. I think it is always great to discover new resources, as you might find something that really makes math “click” for your students. I also think this website is beneficial to a wide range of teachers, as it has resources for Kindergarten through 5th grade!
